What is Counselling?

Counselling provides a place for you to discuss the things that are causing you problems in your life.  A counsellor provides:
  • a safe place to discuss difficult things
  • a space where you can talk confidentially
  • a person who will not judge you and your choices
  • someone who has no agenda in the outcome of your counselling journey
Counselling can be limited to a pre-agreed number of sessions, or open ended depending on the needs of the client.

The first session will be used as a mutual assessment meeting.  This means that the client is able to use this session to decide whether or not counselling is for them.  The counsellor will provide information about the way he works and will find out about what the client would like to work on.  Then both will be able to discuss whether counselling is the appropriate way forward.
